Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about Podcast Maker.

Android — How do I restore purchases / cancel my subscription?

Important: When you uninstall the app, your subscription won't cancel.

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  • Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  • Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  • Tap Cancel subscription.
  • Follow the instructions.

iOS — How do I restore my Premium purchase?

If your subscription plan is active but Premium access seems unavailable (this might be due to a device change or app reinstall), you can always restore your purchase:

  • Check if you are signed in under the same Apple ID that was used to purchase the subscription. If you forgot which Apple ID it was, check the receipt Apple sent to your email after the purchase.
  • Open Podcast Maker Settings and tap on the "Restore purchases" option.
  • If you see your purchase, restart the application and check if the Premium version is available.

If restoring purchases did not help, you can still try:

  • Change your internet connection (try another Wi-Fi or mobile network).
  • Clear the application's cache.
  • Reinstall the application (delete it from your device and install it again from the App Store).

If none of the steps above helped, proceed to Settings > Email Us. Describe the issue shortly in the comment section and mention all the steps you've already tried — our support team will assist you.

iOS — Can I share my subscription with Family Sharing?

Unfortunately, our application is not included in the Family Sharing application pool. This means you and other members of your family cannot share the subscription even if you have Family Sharing enabled.

iOS — How do I use Premium features on several devices?

One of the best features of our subscription plans is that you can use them on as many devices as you wish simultaneously — it doesn't matter if you have a new number, SIM card, or device.

Two things to remember:

  • A subscription plan can only be shared between iOS devices.
  • If you want to use your active subscription on another device, make sure to sign in under the same Apple ID account that was used to purchase it. If you forgot the account, check your receipts — Apple sends them to your email after a subscription purchase.

What subscription plans are available?

Subscriptions are automatically charged every billing period (weekly, monthly, annually, or another period), and you may be charged no more than 24 hours before the beginning of each billing period.

There are 4 subscription plans, all providing the same benefits:

  • Weekly plan — pay every week.
  • Monthly plan — pay every month.
  • Yearly plan — pay once a year for a full 12 months.
  • Lifetime plan — a one-time payment providing Premium access forever.

You can see the cost of the plans in the Store section in Settings. Available plans, currency, and amounts depend on the country of your Apple ID's origin.

I'm having payment issues / cannot pay — what should I do?

Step One: Review accepted payment methods

  • Most credit and debit cards.
  • Mobile phone billing.
  • App Store balance.
  • App Store gift cards.
  • PayPal.

Availability of each method depends on your region. Please ensure your desired payment method is supported in your country.

Step Two: Verify the payment information

The payment can be declined because of a typo in the billing address or an expired card. To check:

  • Open Settings on your iOS device.
  • Tap your name, then tap iTunes & App Store.
  • Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in.
  • Tap Manage Payments (or Payment Information on older iOS versions).
  • Make sure the saved payment information is up to date.
  • Remove or update incorrect data.

Note: Your card may have specific restrictions that cause the transaction to be declined. Contact the institution that issued your card to ask about the transaction.

Step Three: Common errors and solutions

"There is a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please edit your billing info to correct the problem" or "Click Purchase History to view and correct the problem. If you cancel, you will not be able to buy until this billing issue has been resolved."

These occur when you have an unpaid balance in the App Store. Add a new payment method or correct the existing one for the charge to be processed; the App Store will then be unblocked.

Note: If none of the payment methods can be charged, your last order will remain unpaid.

"Your payment method was declined." — Under each payment method you might see the reason why the payment was declined. For more details, check the App Store knowledge base.

Is Podcast Maker free?

Our application is a freemium app, which grants free users access to basic features and also has an advanced PRO version with special benefits available for subscribers.

As a subscriber, you get:

  • No ads in the app.
  • Access to all advanced features.
  • Unlimited use of all features.

To check your status, go to the application's menu Settings > Store. If you do not have an active subscription, you'll see our options in this menu.

How do I manage my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by the App Store, which directly charges users. Due to App Store policies, developers cannot access users' payment information and account details — we can only direct users to their device's subscription management settings:

On your device, navigate to Settings > Manage Subscriptions.

Since subscriptions are handled by the App Store, they also handle refund questions — we do not have control over charges.

How can I unsubscribe from the app service?

You can manage all of your app subscriptions through your iTunes Account Settings:

  • Launch the Settings app.
  • Tap iTunes & App Store.
  • Tap on your Apple ID.
  • Tap View Apple ID when the pop-up window appears.
  • Enter your Apple ID password or fingerprint ID when prompted.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Tap the subscription you want to manage.

If our app does not show up in this menu, you are not subscribed to our services.

How do I manage push notifications?

Push notifications from Podcast Maker are rare and usually notify about updates or major changes in the application.

To disable push notifications on an iPhone:

  • Open Settings on your device.
  • Scroll down until you find Podcast Maker among other applications and tap on it.
  • Choose Notifications and select the options that suit you best.

How do I grant or revoke access to my camera, photo gallery, and local storage?

To edit photos from the camera and/or your device's gallery, you need to grant Podcast Maker permission to access it.

To manage permissions:

  • Open Settings on your device.
  • Scroll down until you find Podcast Maker among other applications and tap on it.
  • Tap the Camera switcher to give or revoke access to your camera.
  • Tap Photos and choose Read and Write to grant Podcast Maker access to your photo gallery, or choose Never to revoke access.

Do I need to create an account?

You don't need to create an account in Podcast Maker at the moment. All features are currently available without login and password. Subscriptions are linked to your App Store account.

Why can't I create/export any more episodes after the 2nd one?

Free users have a limited number of episodes to create/export as well as limited features to use. To create more episodes, please subscribe to our app or use the 3-day trial package.

If I edit/delete an episode segment added from the library, is the original library file affected?

No, they work separately. When adding an audio file from the library to the episode, we're essentially duplicating the file.

How can I rearrange the segments inside an episode?

Hold the segment you would like to rearrange, drag to move the file, and reorder the position.

Would my background music be affected when I split/trim a segment integrated with BGM?

No, we set up the BGM as a separate layer, so any adjustment on the segment doesn't affect it. If you split a segment with BGM into 2, 3, or more parts, the BGM accompanies the first split file, running from the start — the others will have no BGM.

How can I share my podcast?

You need to upload your files onto the platforms manually, as we haven't yet supported direct sharing to audio streaming platforms — it's on our roadmap. At the moment:

If you exported your episode to local storage, all draft and exported files are stored in the Files app of your phone:

Open the Files app > Tap Browse in the lower-right corner > Tap Browse in the upper-left corner > On My iPhone / iCloud Drive > Podcast Maker > podcastaudio > Library / Episodes.

You'll find your files there — to share them to a platform like Spotify, Apple Podcast, or SoundCloud, upload them from this folder.

If you exported your episode to Drive/Dropbox, go directly to the platform you want to upload your podcast to and upload from that cloud storage service.
